Onomatopoeia Poems

Onomatopoeia poems contain words that sound like what is being described.  Check out our noisy poems.

BOOM BOOM GOES THE DRUMS

POUNDING COLDPLAY FANS DANCING

PEOPLE CHEERING

PEOPLE STOMPING

RUNNING ALL AROUND.

By Alexis and Abby

               Christmas

Carols caterwauling

              Crackers cracking

              Poppers popping

              Wrapping wrinkling

              Turkey    sizzling

              Ham    hissing

              Trucks   roaring

              Babies boingin’

              In this catastrophic Christmas

              By Rebecca

At the Zoo

People chattering,

Elephants stomping,

Lions roaring,

Dolphins splashing,

Penguins, swimming, sliding, squeaking,

Parrots, talking, eating, flying,

Monkeys, climbing, jumping, swinging,

Snakes, slithering

People laughing at the zoo.

Ethan and Justin

Christmas

Everyone screaming and wailing
Turkey fizzing
Chloe yawning ready for bed
My sister jumping springs braking
Bells dinging
Ker thump on our floor
Crunching and slurping
Presents dropping.
Harry

Busy Arcade
Clinking
Bashing
Banging
Swipe, Swipe
Chatter, Chatter
Munch, Munch
Crash goes the
Games at the
Arcade

The Digestive System
Munch munch

Crunch crunch

Gurgle gurgle

Sizzle sizzle

Squeezing through the digestive system

Goes the food I ate 12 hours ago

Fart fart

Plop plop

The digestive system. (:

Whistle screeching

Crowd cheering

Bang the ball hits the post

Munching mouths

Fizzing drinks

Spain scores

Crowd roarsThey have won!!!!!!!!

 BY JACK+JARROD

Thumping of feet running to the front of the stage

Beats coming from the sound check

Screams bouncing off the walls when the band walks in

Music starts pumping out of the speakers

Screams go louder while the band starts playing

Encore shouts the crowd after the band has finished

Claps of joy,

After it is finished.

Rochelle and Emily Benton
